Shure PSM900 P9T Package with Fone 425 retains the complete supplied inventory name. P9T is Shure’s half-rack wireless transmitter for the PSM900 personal-monitoring platform. The expression Fone 425 is not a complete confirmed Shure model designation, so it is not silently renamed SE425.
A personal-monitor transmitter takes an audio feed from the mixing system and sends it to an appropriate bodypack receiver. This is the opposite direction from a handheld wireless microphone link. The P9T is the transmitter component, not a receiver or earphone amplifier carried by the performer.
The P9T provides balanced XLR/quarter-inch input connections, switchable nominal input level and loop outputs. Front-panel input-gain adjustment and LED metering allow the feed to be checked at the transmitter. A headphone output supports local monitoring of the signal. These facilities help establish the transmitter’s place between the mixer and the wireless monitoring path.
